First, I want to say, honestly, I did not think I would like this job as much as I do. I was a little nervous about working with this population. After 90 days – well, actually before that – I absolutely fell in love with my clients, spending time with them and helping them achieve independence.  I would have to start by saying job development is one of my favorite aspects of this job. Mainly because I enjoy the anticipation and the building relationships in my community.  The excitement in my clients’ faces, when they know they are starting a new job is priceless.

Secondly, I would like to mention the amount of support that comes with this company. My co-workers have been amazing, and from the moment I met them, they made me feel at home and welcome. Also, Billy is the absolute best leader and mentor I have had in a long time. Billy allows me to vent and be my crazy self while helping me grow and learn new skills. I never feel like I cannot speak to him about anything, which is hard to find in a supervisor/manager. I never feel judged or that I am less than. I am always feeling uplifted and empowered by my supervisor.  It can be simple things that I feel come natural to me, but he will commend me and make me feel like I am going above and beyond.

The amount this job has taught me in this short time has been amazing. I have learned lifelong skills that not only help me at work but in my everyday life.

My Clients have taught me patience. My Clients have taught me that something I may think is simple may not be for them. My Clients have shown me so much happiness and love. Even on their bad days they find reasons to smile.

Helping my clients find jobs or advancing their career has been so amazing for me. Building relationships in my community and reaching out to contacts and building a circle in Fairview again has been fun.
